Message from the Acting Chair
Dear Members and Colleagues
A memorial for Sue Salthouse will be live-streamed next Tuesday 11 August 2020 at 10.30am. You can leave your condolences and access the live stream at www.act.gov.au/tributes. Vale Sue.
Although the WWDACT Board and staff team are reeling from Sue’s sudden death, her legacy is a lasting one. All of us here at WWDACT are determined to honour and build on that legacy, inspired by Sue’s leadership and encouraged by the faith Sue showed in each one of us.
2020 has been a difficult year for so many, and we are particularly thinking of our Victorian friends at this time who are experiencing further lockdowns as a result of COVID-19.
If you need help in the ACT, the ACT Government has implemented a number of community initiatives to support people through COVID-19. You can:
- register for the free Wellbeing Calls Service by calling 6234 7630 between 8am and 4pm daily or register for a call online
- visit the Connect in Canberra website
- participate in the Know Your Neighbour program.
We will get through this challenging time together.
