Women, girls, feminine identifying and non-binary people with disability experience multiple disadvantage due to the intersection of gender discrimination and disability discrimination.
There are approximately 41,200 women with a disability in the ACT.1

labour force participation rates (65.1%) than men with disabilities (80.1%).3
Women with disabilities are 40% more likely to be the victims of domestic violence than women without disabilities.4
Women with disabilities experience sexual victimisation at rates that are 4 to 10 times higher than non-disabled women.4
Women with disabilities are more likely to experience insecure housing.5
In Anglicare’s rental affordability snapshot, there was not a single property in the ACT suitable and affordable for a single person on the Disability Support Pension.6
